Appreciate the President’s Clarification About Hoaxes on the Job Creation Law

The Omnibus law which was inaugurated last October 5 became the most shocking law because it was protested by many people. It turned out that they were opposed because they were consumed by hoaxes. President Jokowi was immediately alert and provided clarification as well as rectifying the hoax, so that the people would understand this law.
Riots broke out during a demonstration against the omnibus law. Workers and students got emotional and condemned the law. But unfortunately, they were tired of protesting, it turned out that they were hit by a hoax because they believed in fake news about the omnibus law. There are many hoaxes circulating on social media and made by individuals who deliberately want to divide the nation.
After the demonstration was over, President Jokowi made a speech to clarify the omnibus law. First, he mentioned the benefits of this law, namely to open as many job vacancies as possible. Because every year there are millions of people of new working age. Moreover, the vacancies created are labor-intensive industries, thereby reducing unemployment.
The President also explained about the hoax about the omnibus law circulating in the community. The most widely reported thing is the elimination of the UMR. This minimum wage remains in place, although the term has been changed from the city minimum wage to the provincial minimum wage. The difference in wages from 1 city to another within 1 province is also not too striking. So the UMP does not reduce workers’ salaries.
The second hoax about the Job Creation Law is the worker’s wages which will be calculated in hours. So that ketar-ketir workers will get a reduction in salary. However, the President said, what is true is that the wages of labor are calculated as before. Can be in hours or based on the results of his work. So the salary will not be circumcised by the company.
Furthermore, there is a hoax that says that all types of leave from maternity and childbirth leave, annual leave, to menstrual leave are abolished. This is the most violent hoax, because in reality there is no waiver of the right to leave. If there is fake news and includes an article in the draft bill, it can be ascertained that it is the result of a deliberate edited distribution.
The workers were also consumed by hoaxes about unilaterally dismissed employees. In fact, what is true is that every company owner is not allowed to lay off his employees at will. Especially if he is sick because of a work accident. So they must receive special leave rights and cannot be just laid off, especially without severance pay.
In conclusion, the President allowed every Indonesian citizen to submit a judicial review to the Constitutional Court if he was not satisfied with every article in the omnibus law of the Job Creation Law. All objections and suggestions will be listened to with pleasure. So there is no tyrannical and authoritarian government, because we are a democracy.
President Jokowi’s statement is like pouring rain in the middle of a fire. The public was relieved because previously they were confused about the pros and cons of the Job Creation Law and what had been rumored so far was just a hoax. Trust in the government has improved again and all elements of society support the realization of the Job Creation Law.
The hoax maker has also been arrested so that the public knows who the real culprit is. Every hoax that has been circulating has also been straightened out, directly by the head of state. The government certainly does not want to subject its people to harmful laws. Especially since the first term, President Jokowi promised to always side with the people.
President Jokowi’s direct clarification made the public no longer confused about the omnibus law on the Job Creation Law. All the hoaxes that have circulated over the past few months have been straightened out. The President’s move to make a speech after the labor demonstration was over was also praised, because he was waiting for public tension to decline first. just held a clarification on the Job Creation Law.
